Marine Corps called murder suicide, ignores drug trafficking at El Toro and refuses to acknowledge dependability for injuries and deaths from Lejeune’s contaminated wells.
(IRVINE, CA) – This tale is about the Marine Corps calling murder suicide, ignoring the trafficking of drugs at former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California, and the environmental infectivity at El Toro and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The link between these seemingly autonomous events is the purging of official government records.
SURPRISE INSPECTOR GENERAL VISIT
According to an informed source, during a bolt from the blue visit by the Marine Corps Checker All-purpose in January 1991, Substitute All-purpose Hollis Davison first stop was Bldg. 53, El Toro’s data dispensation center.
The IG was looking for the data draw collectively in a line on civilian aircraft. Tom Wade, an enlisted Marine who worked in data dispensation at El Toro and had the information to purge data files, told Substitute All-purpose Davison that the MWR draw collectively in a line had been purged. The MWR data draw collectively in a line contained all of the records on the refueling and maintenance of civilian aircraft at El Toro. The IG at some time ago went to the personnel of Colonel Joseph Underwood, El Toro’s Chief of Personnel, who was not in the personnel. Colonel Underwood’s entrance was locked.
According to an informed source, “they broke the locked entrance from its hinges and scoured his personnel.” Colonel Underwood was relieved of his duties two living later. Here’s no report of what was found but no matter what it was, the MWR records were not in the personnel.
Dr. David Sabow, younger brother of the killer Colonel, and others reported that the base was used by unmarked C-130s to glide guns to Central and South America and drugs (cocaine was the drug of choice) in trade into the U.S. In the 1980’s the crack widespread was fueled by entry of cocaine used to fund the Contra War, with Congress cut off appropriated funds by the Boland amendment.
DEATH OF COLONEL SABOW
The purging of the MWR data draw collectively in a line triggered the murder of Colonel James Sabow, El Toro’s Assistant Chief of Personnel and Chief of Operations for the Western Vicinity, Marine Corps, who knew about the authorized consignment of guns but not the illegal consignment of drugs. He refused to go quietly, demanding a courts martial to clear his name. In doing so, he unsuspectingly signed his own fatality warrant. Colonel Sabow was found fatality on January 22, 1991 by his partner on their patio.
At first, it looked like a suicide from a shotgun blast in the mouth. Here was no suicide note and he gave no indications to his partner that he was depressed. He had been relieved of his duties by Brigadier All-purpose Wayne Adams, Commanding All-purpose, MCAS El Toro, pending an investigation of misused of government aircraft. Colonel Sabow said he was innocuous of all charges and questioned for a courts martial to clear his name. He had tossed a football the daylight of his fatality with neighborhood kids, a common practice he was renowned for.
The Sphere of Defense labeled Colonel Sabow’s fatality a suicide. An investigation by Dr. David Sabow, a Federal court recognized forensic neurologist, over the past twenty years provides overwhelming prove of homicide. Other self-determining forensic experts provided authentication that the cause of fatality was homicide.
The DOD continues to keep up that the cause of fatality was suicide, despite the many self-determining forensic experts and a September 5, 2010 affidavit from an globally renowned pathologist who concluded that the crime vista had been tampered with and Colonel Sabow was murdered. The affidavit was provided to a NCIS frost case canvasser who didn’t release she was present at the crime vista until questioned by the son of Colonel Sabow.
The Fleet Investigative Service (now the Naval Criminal Investigative Service or NCIS) was in charge of the crime vista. The pathologist’s affidavit was contrary to the spot taken by NCIS and the Defense Sphere for the past twenty years. It didn’t topic. In the end, the pathologist changed his mind but didn’t formally withdraw the affidavit.
Clogged entrance meetings were held by the NCIS frost case canvasser and community authorities in 2010, including the same Orange County medical examiner who reported suicide as the cause of fatality in 1991. Here are excellent reasons to believe that the affidavit which concluded that the crime vista was tampered with was not presented to anyone, especially since would finger the NCIS in a covering-up a murder. So greatly for the ’justice is blind’ image.
Tom Wade, the data dispensation Marine who passed the terrible news about the purged MWR draw collectively in a line to Marine Corps Checker All-purpose was transferred in 1991 to a base in Florida and murdered numerous years later. His killer was by no means found.
EL TORO LEADERSHIP FORCED OUT OF THE CORPS
Colonel Joseph Underwood, El Toro’s Chief of Personnel, was forced to retire from the Corps in 1991. The alleged allegations included use of military aircraft for golf juntas. Banned from the base by Brigadier All-purpose Wayne T. Adams, The Los Angeles Times quoted Underwood renowned as “the mayor of the El Toro base during a now and again stormy four-year stint as chief of personnel that he had done nothing ill-treat in his use of base C-12 Beechcraft planes and Adams had reneged on promises to end the topic quietly.”
Brigadier All-purpose Wayne Adams, Commanding All-purpose of MCAS El Toro from September 1990 until May 1991, retired in 1991, with he was issued a letter of reprimand in connection with a trip to Huge Bear with his fiancée. The Los Angeles Times article by Eric Lichtblau reported that the all-purpose flew a jet fighter while on heart medication, accepted “expensive champagne glasses from a business frequent, and spent $7,000 in government funds to enhance his base quarters.” The Times cited a Marine Corps Checker All-purpose’s investigation of the all-purpose, which found that Brigadier All-purpose Adams’ actions amounted to “a dereliction of job.” The letter of reprimand successfully finished any change for career advancement, inevitably chief to his retirement.
ATSDR REPORTS LIMITED ON-STATION DATA
Only a few months with Colonel Sabow’s murder, the Outfit for Toxic Disease Registry (ATSDR) in March 1991 compensated a visit to El Toro as part of the condition to conduct a public health assessment of the Superfund locate. ATSDR reported that El Toro represented “an indeterminate public health hazard because of the restricted amount of on-station data void on environmental infectivity and human exposures.” El Toro had no TCE usage records. Later commerce reports would show a splendid deal of TCE at Locate 24, the home of the Marine Wing Support Group 37, the locate of two huge maintenance hangers, and the source of the TCE plume spreading into Orange County. It’s not a stretch to reckon that Superfund records were purged or trashed to keep their contents from leak.
Salem-News found that the El Toro base wells were abandoned with no records of the dates abandoned, numerous decades of water distribution commerce drawings missing, all the original well construction drawings missing, the locations of the shallow groundwater unit (at least 240 feet below the impose a curfew go up) contaminated with TCE, PCE, vinyl chloride, and other toxic chemicals, a TCE plume cutting a path right through the base wells, the well pumping records cut off as of December 1950 while the initial municipal water supply was not void until June 1951, commerce drawings from 1954 and 1976 clearly showed the base wells as part of the water distribution system, the early municipal water services narrow supplied only 1 cu ft. per second of softened water, an amount insufficient to come across the water demands from two bases (El Toro and Tustin), and the official government narrow draw collectively in a line for municipal water services with Irvine Ranch Water Constituency negotiated in 1969 and not scheduled for destruction until 2012 missing. This draw collectively in a line would contain the technological justification for the need to buy municipal water.
The Fleet inspected one well in 1998 for the location of its well screen interval, the first point that water and any contaminants enter a well. The Fleet’s consulting engineer reported 40 feet of the well screen commence in the contaminated aquifer. This well was sealed in concrete and the remaining wells were not inspected for the locations of their well screen intervals previous to sealing them in concrete. The Fleet had to admit that other wells screens commence in the contaminated aquifer would have augmented the risk of exposure to contaminated drinking water. The right thing to do was to inspect all of the wells previous to permanently sealing them in concrete.
Here were 25 individual sites identified by the Fleet and EPA at El Toro, but the most troubling was Locate 24 were the base wells were located and the unexplained missing records associated with the water wells. Contaminated water from these wells would have effected everyone who lived or worked (civilian employees) on the base. Ingestion of contaminated water is one of the routes of exposure to contaminants.
The Public Works Sphere at El Toro had control over these records. It wouldn’t take greatly effort to purge files related to the water wells. Here’s no prove that commerce drawings and other records were deliberately ruined. No eye witnesses have occur forth. But, well screens commence in the contaminated aquifer would have been a major faux pas to the Fleet and the Marine Corps. The Fleet’s 1998 pronouncement not to inspect all wells for the locations of their well screens chains a take in-up.
Here are eye witnesses to the funeral of Trichloroethylene (TCE) drums at El Toro to keep them from the Marine Corps Checker All-purpose observation, with their use was no longer authorized. This was reported to the Fleet by an El Toro Refurbishment Advisory Board (RAB) limb. No action was taken to locate and take out the drums.
The murders of Colonel Sabow, Marine Tom Wade and others associated to ‘guns for drugs’ trafficking at El Toro and the missing Superfund records demand the appointment of an self-determining Federal prosecutor with full powers and funding to investigate and seek out indictments for murder, obstruction of justice, drug trafficking, the destruction of government records, and the deliberate funeral of TCE drums on base.
CAMP LEJEUNE WATER WELLS
The infectivity at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina covers a 30 year period (1957-1987). Toxic chemicals like TCE, perchloroethylene (PCE), vinyl chloride and benzene were found in Lejeune’s well water. TCE levels in the drinking water were among the highest found in the country. The EPA Maximum Contaminant Amount (MCL) for TCE is 5 parts per billion. At Lejeune, 1,400 parts per billion was detected in the drinking water. More than 20 years later, the Outfit for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry is investigating whether birth defects and cancers are related to exposure to TCE. The contaminated wells were shut down in 1985. Senator Daniel Akaka (D, HI), the former Chairman of the Council’s Committee on Veterans Contact, said that the Marine Corps had been less than forthcoming about Lejeune. Years later the Marine Corps bureaucracy continues to deny any friendship between the contaminated drinking water and injuries and deaths.
Marines were injured and died from exposure to deadly environmental hazards in cooperation at El Toro and Lejeune. Now’s senior Marine Corps leadership denies dependability for the cancers and other diseases associated to Lejeune’s contaminated wells (1957-1987). El Toro, now clogged nearly 11 years, isn’t flush on their radar. Volumes could be written about in cooperation bases. This is our small have a crack to publish the unfolding tale at in cooperation Marine Corps bases.
The Marine Corps’ confirmation of service to our country speaks for itself. Thousands of Americans have proudly worn the Marine Corps uniform, many giving their lives on hundreds of battlefields since 1775.
As a former Marine, I’ve taken no pleasure in telltale this tale, but to keep silent and not tell it would be a splendid disservice to those who call themselves Marines.
